Lord: The Sufficient Seeker

Lord: The Sufficient Seeker

He comes to where you call Him.  You don't have to clean up your home, or polish up your life, He already has a place for you to stay at.  He comes and cleans yours for you, and He lets you nest and rest in Him while He washes your sins away.  He provides fresh water for those who are thirsty.

Waiting for "The One"

Waiting for "The One"

All my single ladies can agree that the we dread that one question coming home for the holiday...."soooooo, have you met the one yet?"  I usually reply with some smart comment or laugh it off so people stop talking about it. I am single, and I have been my whole life so far.  I have managed 20 years of my life without someone's arm to hang on to and honestly, I have been fine that way. But lately, I have been thinking about it a lot.

A Letter to My Freshman Self

A Letter to My Freshman Self

I was going through my journal from Link Year this week, and I came across an old "Hot Seat" session.  Hot Seat is where we sit down with out guest speaker, and are able to ask them literally anything we want!  One question that almost always got asked was "What would you tell your 18 year old self?"  I was always so intrigued with their answers.  I sat on my floor reading different speakers answers, and it got me thinking...what would I tell myself?

The One Where Codi Figures Out Her Future

The One Where Codi Figures Out Her Future

I am finally back home after a long and life giving two years of living in the weird little tourist town, that I like to call Hillbilly Vegas.  Leaving Branson this time around was filled with emotion and bittersweet feelings.  I wish I could say that I handled it like a champ, but I cried the whooooole drive down to Fayetteville (for real, the whole way).  Saying goodbye to a town that is filled with so many new families members and a place that hold so many of your favorite memories just honestly sucks.

Wacko For Waco

Wacko For Waco

For some reason, I have ended up in Waco, TX three times in the past month!  All for different reasons, in which one included a bachelorette party for my dear friend, Dominique!  We have been friends for almost 8 years now, and it was a huge blessing to be able to celebrate and stand by her side on her big day.  Here are some of the photos from that fun weekend, mostly at Magnolia and a few from some other places in downtown.

Dancing In The Hallways

Dancing In The Hallways

There’s a moment in your life, where you are transitioning from one place to another, and its a waiting period.  This could be your senior year when your graduating and waiting to find out about where your going to college. Or maybe you are waiting to find out about a job, and aren’t really sure what you are doing.  For me, Link Year is coming to an end in a month, and I still have no idea what I am doing after.

Photos: Costa Rica

Photos: Costa Rica

Two years ago, now, I went on a mission trip to Costa Rica, with Gateway Church.  I still think about those two weeks I spent there, probably on a daily basis. Costa Rica has been my favorite place ever since I went there, not necessarily because of the location, even though it is beautiful there, but because of the people I met and grew close to. I can honestly say that I have family in CR now.  These photos hold so many sweet memories in my heart, and I wanted to share them with you guys!

The Art of Being All In

The Art of Being All In

I was in Mark 5, and the story of how Jesus sets free the possessed man stood out to me.  Basically, in this chapter, there is a man that is possessed.  He stumbles upon Jesus and begs Him to heal him.  Jesus does so, by casting the demons into a herd of pigs near by.  The man is so excited to be free that he started to search for way to share what had just happened - to share the good news. He asks Jesus to send him out with Him to spread The Word.  But The Lord replies to the man in a unique way.

The Master Planner

The Master Planner

It’s the new year, and most of y'all are thinking I’m going to write about my New Year's resolutions.  Well, you're wrong.  I’m not going to sit here and share everything I have planned to change for the new year because I don’t believe that is in my hands.  Yes, I think it is great to plan things to change, or new ideas for the year, but, speaking for myself, I haven't followed through on most of my ideas.  So instead, I am going to tell you about what God has done the past year in my life, and what He is doing through this next year.

Advice from the Alumni

Advice from the Alumni

When I first came to Link Year, I had so many questions.  I had no idea what I was getting into.  Was I going to school?  Was I going to fit in or make friends?  Why am I moving to Branson, Missouri?  All these questions swarmed my head as I entered into a year of the unknown.  I know I wasn't the only one feeling this way in the beginning, and I am sure this class may be feeling this way too.  So, with that being said, I wanted to put a little post together with some things I wish I knew before entering and some advice for the year.

The Little Boy

The Little Boy

"There was this little boy at church one time.  He was standing next to his father during worship the whole time, but kept getting distracted.  He kept loosing focus, and at one point he wandered off.  He thought he had lost his father.  He was searching frantically, but could only see people’s legs, because he was so little.

Okay guys, yes its true...I have a tattoo.  Some of y'all are thinking "Duh! You've had it for a while now." Which is very true, but some may not have known that.  While in Ireland, a few (okay like half the group) of my friends and I decided to make memories and all get tattoos together.  I have wanted one for a while now, but was planning on waiting for a little to actually commit to one.  I mean, it is a pretty big commitment!

Waiting on The Lord

Waiting on The Lord

Waiting on the Lord seems like one of the toughest concepts to grasp, at least it does for me.  Our whole lives have been planned for us until adulthood.  We always know what the next step is through out junior high and high school. We go through grade to grade until we graduate high school, and then we are told to go to college.
