Elaine and I just got back from our Spring Break trip in Colorado! We explored Denver, Boulder and Estes Park, as well as camped in Rocky Mountain National Park for the week. Not even an hour after we first arrived in Denver, it began to snow!
On our first full day, we decided to go and explore the town of Boulder, CO and see all that it offered. Pearl Street was adorable and filled with our favorite stores: TOPO Designs, Free People, Urban Outfitters...all that good good!
After walking around the town, Elaine and I decided to get in the actual mountains. Without thinking much of it, we started driving, no destination in mind. We drove closer and closer to the mountains, and eventually were absorbed in them (insert heart eye emoji here).
While driving, we came across a random little coffee shop in a cabin, and couldn't help but stop. IT WAS ADORABLE! We sat and drank our chai teas while we talked to the owner of Happy Trails Coffee. If you ever find yourself in Nederland, Colorado, this is a MUST!
After that, we continued driving and eventually found ourselves back in Boulder, where we ended the night.
The next day, we set out to Rocky Mountain National Park, where we would camp a few nights and explore Estes Park. We went on an unbelievable hike with our friends, Jackson and Graham, the next day. At the end of the 2.5 miles, we were standing on top of a frozen lake (pictures on Instagram)!! I'm pretty sure that was the highlight of my trip.
Colorado is, by far, my favorite state, and I think every time that I step foot in it I fall a little more in love and a little less stressed. There is just something about being in the mountains, you know? Anyway, the trip was so much fun, but I'm sure this won't be the last you hear about it from me!
